As part of my show at the Commercial Street Cafe Gallery this August, I offered to give away a print to one randomly-selected visitor. After taking down the show, I involved a friend's two boys to choose the winner: first, I randomly numbered those who'd signed the guest book; then the boys rolled two dice, resulting in two fives. Of course the possible numbers from two dice will be from 2 to 12 and there were three times that many names in the guest book. I then had the boys roll one dice as a "multiplier" -- if it came up as 1, the original number from the first roll would be the winner; instead, it came up as 4. Congratulations to "number 40," Mia, who told me this was her favourite photo.
