Last year I met a friend for coffee at a café I hadn't visited before, south of The Drive, at 20th and Commercial Street in Vancouver. The café has two rooms, with art on the walls. I later contacted one of the co-owner, Pete, and asked if he might consider a show of my photography. He liked what he saw, but told me the rooms were booked through December 2019. "Leave me your contact information, as sometimes someone drops out," he said.
Three weeks ago he emailed me: could I do a show in August? Scrambling to print and frame thirteen images, to add to five I had already framed but had yet to show, I will be installing it tonight.
More of the show's images are on my page "Crossings."
